With Cerec, we can now place inlays and onlays in One Appointment. In most dental practices, this type of procedure requires a temporary filling and takes several weeks for a laboratory to fabricate. For this reason, the majority of dentists place injected fillings. This type of restoration has stress and shrinkage at the margins (area between the filling and the tooth), resulting in leakage, decay and a very limited life span. Our custom, computer designed inlays and onlays are milled, providing a fit that cannot be duplicated with any other technique. The bonding gap (space) is minimal, creating less stress at the margins and a superior seal between the filling and the tooth.
